All about Fusion’s new paint Alchemy!

WHAT MAKES ALCHEMY DIFFERENT?

Chalk-Style, But More Durable – Unlike many chalk-style paints, Alchemy offers superior adhesion and can be left unsealed for a soft, flat effect or finished with waxes, glazes, or topcoats for added durability.

Unmatched Blendability – Its buttery smooth consistency allows for seamless layering, color blending, and artistic techniques.

Minimal Prep, Maximum Results – Alchemy requires no sanding or priming and adheres to most surfaces with ease.

24 Curated Colors – A stunning palette of rich, deep tones and soft, muted hues, all inspired by vintage European patinas, timeless neutrals, and bold statement colors.

TOP COATS FOR ALCHEMY?

Because Alchemy contains Fusion’s acrylic resin, it’s a very durable chalk-style paint that typically does not always require a top coat. It is, however, still recommended if the piece will be in a high-traffic area, or if you’re after the look and feel of wax.  You can use clear wax for a soft sheen or tinted wax for added depth.  We highly recommend our Fusion waxes and have personally tested them on Alchemy.  Buff the finish the next day with the applicator pads and the sheen is absolutely stunning.

WHAT BRUSH TO USE WITH ALCHEMY?

To complement Alchemy’s artistic, chalk-style finish, we recommend using these Staalmeester brushesfeaturing blonde bristles made from a mix of natural and synthetic fibres.

Why they work well with Alchemy:

  • The flagged bristle tips (split ends) hold more paint. This is especially important with Alchemy, as you typically load your brush a little heavier compared to Fusion™.
  • Their natural flexibility makes layering and soft blending easy.
  • The smaller size is perfect for painting, while the larger size works beautifully for applying wax.
  • The bristles are securely set in a nickel ferrule, ensuring durability when applying wax.
